FTAP Rate
determines the data rate (and number of slots) for transmitting the forward test packets when the test set is configured to TAP (0x0003) (see
Test Application Configuration
) in Active Cell operating mode and the
DRC Value Fixed Mode Attribute
is set to On. In this case, the test set tells the access terminal to always request the DRC value that corresponds to the current FTAP Rate setting. The test set then uses the DRC value requested by the access terminal to set its forward rate.
FTAP Rate can be changed at any time. The following table shows the configuration of the forward traffic packet at each data rate for subtype 0 physical layer. Note that the actual number of slots transmitted by the test set for each data rate may be less depending upon the Max Forward Packet Duration .
The test set uses the DRC value requested by the access terminal to set its forward rate. The DRC value requested by the access terminal is controlled either by the test set or determined by the access terminal according to the current link conditions.
