Inter-RAT Config Info

Inter-RAT Config Info

Last updated: April 26, 2013

This section is only applicable to the lab application.

Description

When emulating an eHRPD AN (See eHRPD Support in the Test Set ), the test set supports to broadcast LTE neighbor information over eHRPD air link for Inter-RAT operations. You must set the Other RAT Available State to On before specifying any E-UTRAN neighbor parameter.

You can configure the QuickConfig Message and OtherRATNeighborList Message by setting the following parameters:

There are also some fixed settings in the test set, including: NumOtherRAT, RATType, E-UTRAN Neighbor PerEARFCNParamsIncluded and E-UTRAN Neighbor PLMNSameAsPreviousChannel. See Fixed Settings for more information.

Inter-RAT Config Parms

This section describes general parameters sent in QuickConfig Message for Inter-RAT operations

The QuickConfig message is used to indicate a change in the overhead messages' contents, a change in the OtherRATNeighborList message's contents and to provide frequently changing information. You are allowed to configure the QuickConfig Message by setting the following parameters:

QuickConfig Message Parameters

Settings in the Test Set

Field in the Standard

Description

GPIB Command

Other RAT Available State

OtherRATAvailable

This parameter controls if the OtherRATTXCycle fields of QuickConfig message and OtherRATNeighborList message will be sent to the UE. When set to On , the OtherRATTXCycle will be included in the QuickConfig message, and the OtherRATNeighborList message will be sent in the Synchronous Control Channel Capsule at the Control Channel Cycle specified by Other RAT TX Cycle .

CALL[:CELL]:IRAT:ORAT:STATe

Other RAT TX Cycle OtherRATTXCycle

This parameter determines the transmission cycle of the OtherRATNeighborList message, in unit of Control Channel Cycle.

CALL[:CELL]:IRAT:ORAT:TXCycle

E-UTRAN Neighbor Parameters

This section describes parameters in OtherRATNeighborList Message that are not specific to an EARFCN.

OtherRATNeighborList message conveys information corresponding to the neighboring sectors with access technologies other than CDMA to the access terminal. You are allowed to configure the OtherRATNeighborList Message as in OtherRATNeighborList Message Parameters .

In Active Cell operating mode, these parameters are only applicable when the Protocol Rel is A (1xEV-DO-A) , the Session Application Type is Alternate EMPA and the Other RAT Available State is On .

OtherRATNeighborList Message Parameters
Settings in the Test Set Field in the Standard Description GPIB Command
Priority Included PriorityIncluded

When this parameter is set to On , the test set will include the priority related fields (ServingPriority and E-UTRAN Neighbor EARFCNPriority) in the E-UTRAN Neighbor List Record when sending OtherRATNeighborList message to the UE.

CALL[:CELL]:IRAT:EUTRa:PRIority:INCLuded

Serving Cell Priority

ServingPriority

When Priority Included is set to On , this parameter is used by the UE as the priority of its current serving CDMA channel. If the strength of the reference pilot of the serving eHRPD network (simulated by the test set) is higher than the ThreshServing, the UE will not measure the E-UTRA frequency channels whose EARFCNPriority values are lower than the ServingPriority; Otherwise, the UE will perform measurement on all the E-UTRA frequency channels in the Neighbor list.

Serving Priority, together with Serving Cell Threshold and EARFCN Priority , are used to determine whether some or all the EUTRA frequency channels will be measured by the UE:

CALL[:CELL]:IRAT:EUTRa:SERVing:PRIority

Serving Cell Threshold

ThreshServing

This parameter specifies the strength of the reference pilot of the serving HRPD cell, in unit of dB.

CALL[:CELL]:IRAT:EUTRa:SERVing:THReshold

Per EARFCN Parameters Included

Per EARFCN Parameters Included

This parameter specifies whether to include the common parameters or the EARFCN specific parameters in the E-UTRAN Neighbor List Record. When set to Off , the common parameters are included. When set to On , the EARFCN specific parameters are included.

CALL[:CELL]:IRAT:EUTRa:PEParameters:INCLuded

RxLevMinEUTRACommon

RxLevMinEUTRACommon

This parameter controls the minimum reference signal received power (RSRP) level received from the E-UTRA cell, in unit of dBm. It is a common value for all the neighboring E-UTRA frequencies.

CALL[:CELL]:IRAT:EUTRa:COMMon:RLMinimum

PEMaxCommon

PEMaxCommon

This parameter defines the maximum Tx power level the UE may use when transmitting on the uplink in the E-UTRA cell, in unit of dBm.

This is a common value applies to all the neighboring E-UTRA frequencies.

CALL[:CELL]:IRAT:EUTRa:COMMon:PEMax

RxLevMinEUTRAOffsetCommon Included

RxLevMinEUTRAOffsetCommonIncl

This parameter determines whether RxLevMinEUTRAOffsetCommon is included in the OtherRATNeighborList message.

CALL[:CELL]:IRAT:EUTRa:COMMon:RLMinimum:OFFSet:INCLuded

RxLevMinEUTRAOffsetCommon

RxLevMinEUTRAOffsetCommon

This parameter specifies the offset to the minimum reference power level for the UE to select E-UTRA cell. This is a common value for all the neighboring E-UTRA frequencies.

CALL[:CELL]:IRAT:EUTRa:COMMon:RLMinimum:OFFSet

Maximum Reselection Timer Included

MaxReselectionTimerIncluded

This parameter determines whether the value for the Reselection Timer will be included in the OtherRATNeighborList message.

CALL[:CELL]:IRAT:EUTRa:MRTimer:INCLuded

Maximum Reselection Timer

MaxReselectionTimer

This parameter specifies the maximum value of the Reselection Timer.

CALL[:CELL]:IRAT:EUTRa:MRTimer

Search Back-off Timer Included

SearchBackOffTimerIncluded

This parameter determines whether the values for Search Back-off Timer will be included in the OtherRATNeighborList message

CALL[:CELL]:IRAT:EUTRa:SBOTimer:INCLuded

Minimum Measurement Backoff Timer

MinMeasurementBackoff

This parameter specifies the minimum value of the measurement Back-off Timer.

CALL[:CELL]:IRAT:EUTRa:MBOTimer:MINimum

Maximum Measurement Backoff Timer

MaxMeasurementBackoff

This parameter specifies the maximum value of the measurement Back-off Timer.

CALL[:CELL]:IRAT:EUTRa:MBOTimer:MAXimum

PLMN ID Included

PLMN ID Included

This parameter specifies whether to include the PLMN Identifier values in the E-UTRAN Neighbor List Record.

When set to On , the following PLMN related fields are included:
