When the
F5
(
Short Message Service
) on Call Control 3 of 3 menu is pressed, the Short Message Service Information screen (see
Short Message Service Information Screen
) appears. It consists of five windows:
To clear the information on the SMS Status and the received SMS message, see Clearing the SMS Info/Status .
The Mobile-Terminated Message window is a scrolling display which allows viewing of the message contents you entered to be sent to the MS (see Creating/Editing the Mobile-Terminated Message Contents ).
Five rows, up to 80 user input characters can be displayed at a time. Four of the rows, each containing up to 20 characters, are used to show the message contents. One row shows the integer value of the Character Index and a cursor represented by a caret (^) pointing to the character specified by the Character Index (see Enter/Edit Message Contents ). Note that the character index value starts from 0 (zero).
The scrolling indicators (^ and v) are shown when more of the user input message is available both above and below the displayed portion of the message. To scroll the displayed portion of the message to view other portion of the message, change the setting in Character Index (see Enter/Edit Message Contents ).
The Mobile-Originated Message window is to display the contents of the last received SMS message from the mobile station. The message can be displayed in ASCII or Hex format which is controlled by the setting of
Display Format
(see
Display Control
). To clear the information shown in this window, see
Clearing the SMS Info/Status
.
The display is broken into 5 rows, each containing up to 20 characters, to allow for displaying a maximum of 100 characters at a time. If there are characters preceding the 1st row displayed, there will be a caret (^) shown on the upper-right of the window. If there are characters following the last row displayed, there will be a caret (v) shown on the lower-right of the window. To view the entire message, change the setting of
Row Index
(see
Display Control
) to scroll the displayed portion of the message.
