It provides a way to define a message that is longer than the maximum length allowed by the user input message (255 Ascii or 511 Hex) or construct a long string without having to enter a long string. The user input message is possibly padded with '0's (zeros) due to the setting of the Message Encoding (see Message Encoding ) before being repeated and the actual message transmitted may be truncated. See How Does the Test Set Build the Mobile-Terminated Message? for details.
Setting
Message Repeat
to '0' (zero) results in the SMS message being "" (null, 0 length) regardless of the user input message contents in the
Mobile-Terminated Message
