This section is only applicable to the GPRS/EGPRS lab applications.

The flexible timeslot function allows you to position timeslots within the TDMA frame as much flexibility as possible. You can use the GPIB command CALL:(PDTCH|PDTChannel):MSLot:CONFig to set the multislot configuration to `Custom' , then use the GPIB command CALL:(PDTCH|PDTChannel):MSLot:CONFig:CUSTom:TSLots to customize the multislot combination as your requirement.

How to set the Flexible Timeslot

The following procedure details how to access and configure the Flexible Timeslot Multislot Configuration.

  1. Press CALL SETUP .
  2. Press PDTCH parms ( F9 )
  3. Press the More key on the lower right corner to display the PDTCH parms (2 of 3).
  4. Press Multislot Configuration ( F7 ).
  5. Press Custom Multislot Cfg ( F8 ), Use the knob to turn on/off the downlink and uplink timeslots as you need.
  6. After setting, press Apply Changes ( F5 ) and check the custom timeslot settings on the screen.

Operating Considerations

The flexible timeslot is only available in the following operating modes: Active Cell, GPRS BCH+PDTCH, EGPRS BCH+PDTCH, GPRS BCH+TCH+PDTCH and EGPRS BCH+TCH+PDTCH.

The `Burst to Measure' setting is apply to the relative uplink burst. For example, if uplink timeslots 2 and 5 have active bursts, value `1' of `Burst to Measure' refers to uplink timeslot 2 and value `2' of `Burst to Measure' refers to the uplink timeslot 5
