Calling Party Number Parameters
Last updated: December 3, 2008
This section is only applicable to the lab application.
The test set allows you to specify the calling party number (CPN) parameters sent to the called mobile station so that you can evaluate the mobile station's behavior in response to the CPN (for example, to see whether the mobile station displays the calling party's number as expected).
When you originate a call from the test set, the calling party number parameter is sent to the called mobile station via the SETUP message. See
How Do I Perform Calling Party Number Verification?
for the detailed procedure.
When you send the SMS messages, the test set also allows you to enter the originating address. The address setting for messages is different from that for calling party number. See
Mobile Terminated SMS (MT SMS)- Sending a Message to the Mobile Station
for more information.
Operating Considerations
The Calling Party Number feature is only applicable to Active Cell Operating Modes with Connection Type set to Auto. The feature is only applicable to GSM traffic channel connection.
