SACCH/SID Power Mode

SACCH/SID Power Mode

Last updated: May 31, 2010

This section is only applicable to the lab applications.

The test set provides a SACCH/SID Power Mode setting to allow you to set the signal level according to the requirement of test case 21.1 in 3GPP TS51.010. When the SACCH/SID Power Mode is enabled, the signal level of the TCH bursts corresponding to the first six timeslots out of the 4 SACCH and 8 SID timeslots in the SACCH block should be fixed to 39.5 dBmVemf() and the last six timeslots out of the 4 SACCH and 8 SID timeslots in the SACCH block should be fixed to 29.5 dBmVemf().

When the SACCH/SID Power Mode is enabled, the power change will be effective from the next SACCH block period. When this functionality is disabled, the normal power will be restored from the next SACCH block period.

Note that the SACCH/SID Power Mode is only applicable when the speech channel is set to full speech (FS/EFS/AFS/WFS) , otherwise the setting is grayed and can NOT be accessed from MUI. However, you can use the GPIB command to set the SACCH/SID Power Mode to T211 when the speech channel is not set to full speech, the setting is not effective until the speech channel is changed to full speech.

The GPIB command to set the SACCH/SID Power Mode is CALL:TCHannel:(SACCH|SACChannel):POWer:MODE

See How Do I Change Cell Operation Parameters? to access this setting.

Operating Considerations

This SACCH/SID Power Mode is only available in the Active Cell operating mode.

When the SACCH/SID Power Mode is set to T211, the power level of the Unused or Adjacent burst can not be set concurrently.
