GPIB Command Conventions

CALL[:CELL]:BINDicator

Function

GSM TA

Sets/queries the value of the Band Indicator.
The band indicator is a bit carried in system information messages to distinguish between ARFCN numbers that overlap for the DCS and PCS bands. This parameter is part of System Information 1 and System Information 6 messages when a BCCH is used or the Packet System Information 1 message when a PBCCH is used. Setting this parameter to DCS sets the bit to 0 and a parameter setting of PCS sets the bit to 1.

If the BCH Cell Band is changed to DCS or PCS, the Band Indicator is updated to match the BCH Cell Band setting. Changes to the TCH or PDTCH traffic bands do not affect the Band Indicator setting. Also, presetting the test set reverts the Band Indicator setting to its default setting. The command to change the BCH Cell Band is CALL[:CELL]:BAND<[:SELected]|:GSM> .
