This page describes the features in the Keysight Technologies E1969A TD-SCDMA_GSM Test Application releases. This document contains the original features, as well as enhancements that have been added over time.

Provide the capability to simultaneously support a circuit switched (CS) AMR voice connection and packet switched (PS) data connection. See Simultaneous Services and Simultaneous Services Ladder Diagrams.
Support RRC auto state transition capability. See Automatic RRC State Transitions.
Add a new reference measurement channel 144k. This channel type only applies to Channel Power measurement. See Channel_Type.

Add the GPIB command to query the HSUPA Real Time Results. See CALL:HSUPa:RTIMe:RESults:ALL?.
Support Real-time vocoder to allow you to perform live end-to-end testing of the UE's entire audio path. (An additional feature license is required to enable this functionality in the licensed test application). The new parameters added for this feature are as follows:

A new value of Auto is supported for E-HICH behavior. See E-HICH Behavior.
Midamble configuration for default midamble allocation mode is settable on DL DPCH.
The midamble configuration for common mode is fixed to 2. See DPCH and DPCHo Configuration for Different Channel Types.
TD-SCDMA DL Dpchannel Default Midamble Config. (An additional Revision to Current (R2C) license is required to enable this functionality in a licensed test application).
GPRS Packet Service data connection is supported by 384 kbps UL/ 384 kbps DL PS Bearer. See GPRS Packet Data Service (An additional Revision to Current (R2C) license is required to enable this functionality in the licensed test application).
Add a new parameter GPRS_Radio_Access_Bearer to the Data Channel. (An additional Revision to Current (R2C) license is required to enable this functionality in the licensed test application).
Add a new parameter PS_Data_HS_PDSCH_Midamble_Mode to the HSDPA Parameters. (An additional Revision to Current (R2C) license is required to enable this functionality in a licensed test application).
Detection of E-DCH HARQ ACK Indicator Channel (An additional Revision to Current (R2C) license is required to enable this functionality in a licensed test application)
Demodulation of E-DCH Absolute Grant Channel (An additional Revision to Current (R2C) license is required to enable this functionality in a licensed test application)
Add the new parameter Time Slot to Measure to the measurements: Adjacent Channel Leakage Ratio (ACLR) Measurement, Channel Power Measurement, Spectrum Emission Mask (SEM) Measurement, and Waveform Quality Measurement.
Add the new parameter Manual Power Range Offset to the measurements: Adjacent Channel Leakage Ratio (ACLR) Measurement, Channel Power Measurement, Spectrum Emission Mask (SEM) Measurement, and Waveform Quality Measurement.

HSDPA enhancements (An additional Revision to Current (R2C) license is required to enable this functionality in a licensed test application).
Support Variable Reference Channels (VRC) for HSDPA performance testing. When HS-DSCH Config is set to VRC, the test set varies the downlink properties according to the UE's indication. This option makes it possible to test 3GPP TS 34.122 9.3.2A to 9.3.2E. See HSDPA Parameters and 3GPP TS34.122 9.3.2 HS-DSCH throughput for Variable Reference Channels.
Point to Point SMS: The test set supports the following point-to-point SMS over either CS (Circuit Switched) or PS (Packet Switched) domain: Mobile Terminated SMS (MT SMS) and Mobile Originated SMS (MO SMS). See Short Message Service. (An additional Revision to Current (R2C) license is required to enable this functionality in a licensed test application).
Extend the Channel Type to allow for multi-rate RMC: 64k RMC, 64k UL / 144k DL AM RMC and 64k UL / 384k DL AM RMC. These new options are only used under active cell operating mode. (An additional Revision to Current (R2C) license is required to enable this functionality in a licensed test application).
TD-SCDMA downlink midamble scheme selection (default or common). See TD-SCDMA DL Dpchannel Midamble Mode.
New HSDPA measurements (An additional Revision to Current (R2C) license is required to enable this functionality in a licensed test application):
HS-SCCH Detection Performance measurement. The detection performance of the HS-SCCH is determined by P(Em). When HS-DSCH Config is set to HSSCCH Detection, P(Em) is available by performing the HSDPA Block Error Ratio (HBLER) measurement. See 3GPP TS34.122 9.3.4 HS-SCCH Detection Performance for the manual operations to perform 3GPP TS34.122 9.3.4.
Add Out-of-Synchronization of Output Power (OOS) Measurement for continuous transmission (An additional Revision to Current (R2C) license is required to enable this functionality in a licensed test application).
Add Fast Device Tune Measurement (An additional feature license is required to enable this functionality in the licensed test application).

This firmware release provides you with the following functionalities: HSDPA RMC call setup, system handover, AMR voice call, etc. Also there are some new measurements added.
An additional feature license is required to enable the HSDPA functionalities in this test application.

Support for HSDPA in active cell operating mode. (An additional feature license is required to enable this functionality in the licensed test application).
Allows you to set up a HSDPA RB test mode call over either PS or PS/CS domain. See Channel Type, HSDPA Parameters, HSDPA Channel Configuration Information and Downlink Code Channel Levels Screen for more HSDPA configurations. See Establish an HSDPA Connection on how to establish an HSDPA connection manually.
HS-DSCH throughput tests defined in 3GPP TS 34.122 9.3.1A to 9.3.1E are supported by configuring the RMC Type. BLER and ACK/NACK results are updated in real-time on the HSDPA Real Time Results Information screen.
HSDPA inter-frequency handover can be performed by Physical Channel Reconfiguration.
System Handover: Allows you to handover to a GSM voice call from either TD-SCDMA AMR or TD-SCDMA RB test mode. See also System Handover on how to perform a system handover manually. (An additional Revision to Current (R2C) license is required to enable this functionality in a licensed test application).
UE Measurement Control: Supports for the UE reported P-CCPCH RSCP (Received Signal Code Power). (An additional Revision to Current (R2C) license is required to enable this functionality in a licensed test application)
Support for SC/MC handoff by Physical Channel Reconfiguration. (An additional Revision to Current (R2C) license is required to enable this functionality in a licensed test application)
Add the following new timers: T308 RRC Conn Release Comp Retransmit Timer, N308 RRC Conn Release Comp Max Retransmits and T3212 Periodic Location Update Timer.
AMR Voice Call: You can make an AMR voice call from either the test set (by setting the Paging Service Type to AMR Voice) or the mobile station. Eight AMR radio access bearers can be set, see Voice Call. Supports of the AMR source to be echo only. (An additional Revision to Current (R2C) license is required to enable this functionality in a licensed test application)
Enhance the following Tx measurements to support HSDPA: Channel Power, Waveform Quality, Adjacent Channel Leakage Ratio (ACLR), Spectrum Emission Mask (SEM), Occupied Bandwidth (OBW) and Transmit ON/OFF Power (TOOP).
Add the following HSDPA Rx measurement: HSDPA Block Error Ratio (HBLER) Measurement. See also SETup:THBLerror and FETCh:THBLerror.
Add Open Loop Power Control (OLPC) Measurement. (An additional Revision to Current (R2C) license is required to enable this functionality in a licensed test application)
Add Block Error Ratio (BLER) Measurement. (An additional Revision to Current (R2C) license is required to enable this functionality in a licensed test application)
Add a new parameter, Synchronization Mode, to the dynamic power measurement. See Dynamic Power (DPOW) Measurement Parameters.
This firmware release provides you with call processing functionalities, including to set up a RMC 12.2 kbps call connection, physical layer reconfiguration, etc. Some new or enhanced measurements are also supported.
An additional feature license is required to enable the call processing functionalities in this test application.

Add the following operating modes:
Active Cell Operating Mode: allows you to make a signalling connection between the test set (emulating a base station in a network) and a UE.
Cell Off Operating Mode: allows you to change the parameters that cannot be changed during Active Cell operation but used for call processing.
Originate/End Call: allows you to originate or end a RB Test Mode service call from the test set. See Paging Parameters, Cell Parameters and UE Timer and Constant Parms on the related parameters.
Support of downlink channel level settings in Active Cell operating mode. See Generator Info.
Physical Channel Reconfiguration: allows you to perform frequency handover or power control step size change while on a connection.
Support for clearing UE reported information by pressing the Clear UE Info button or sending the CALL:MS:REPorted:CLEar[:ALL][:SELected] command.
Security Operation (see Security Information): allows you to specify whether to perform security procedures during some call processing operations, and what kind of security procedures to be performed.
Add the UE Transmit Power Control parameters used to determine the UE open loop transmit power.
Provide uplink closed loop power control in Active Cell operating mode, which allows the test set to send power control bits to the UE according to the uplink signal level and the target power. See UL CL Power Control.
Add the following TD-SCDMA Test mode parameters: UL DPCH TFCI Control and UL DPCH TFCI.
Closed Loop Power Control (CLPC) Measurement enhancement: Support for CLPC measurement operating in Active Cell operating mode. See Closed Loop Power Control (CLPC) Measurement.
Occupied Bandwidth (OBW) Measurement (An additional Revision to Current (R2C) license is required to enable this functionality in a licensed test application)
Dynamic Power (DPOW) Measurement (An additional Revision to Current (R2C) license is required to enable this functionality in a licensed test application)

This is the original release of the Keysight E1969A TD-SCDMA GSM fast switch test application. An additional feature license is required to enable all TD-SCDMA test mode functionalities in this test application.

The test set supports to send a configurable downlink signal that the UE can synchronize to in order to transmit a corresponding uplink signal. Downlink signal parameters that can be configured include the following settings:
TD-SCDMA Test operating mode: TD-SCDMA Test Mode provides downlink signal that emulates a subset of the layer 1 features of a TD-SCDMA Node B without any signalling information. See Operating Mode.
CW signal source: the test set operates like a signal generator and provides any one of three test signals: CW (no modulation), AM (fixed 56% amplitude modulation) and DSB-SC (dual side-band suppressed carrier).
Downlink Channel Configuration. See Channel Type, DL DTCH Data, Channel Config Info, DL TFCI Patten, DL PICH Data and Channel Config Info etc.
Uplink Channel Configuration: See Channel Config Info.
Synchronisation Codes: allow you to set synchronisation codes for Node B, see Scrambling Code.
Uplink Channel Power Control: see UL CL Power Control.
UE Target Tx Power: allow you to set UL DPCH power, see MS Target Power.
Measurement Receiver Control over power and frequency: allow you to control the test set's receiver frequency and attenuation settings, see Receiver Control.
AWGN: provide AWGN to emulate interference from other cells, see AWGN Power.

Amplitude Offset can be set up to 60 offsets. (An additional feature license is required to enable the amplitude offset 20 to 60 in a licensed test application)
FM Broadcast: allows to test the mobile station with full range of FM (frequency modulated) Broadcast signals.
Single channel GPS source :allows the test set to generate GPS signals to calibrate the GPS receiver of the mobile. (An additional feature license is required to enable this functionality in a licensed test application)
Save/Recall registers: allows you to store the test set's current settings to up 10 registers and retrieve them later, eliminating the task of reconfiguring the test set. See Save and Recall Registers. (An additional Revision to Current (R2C) license is required to enable the register 6 to 10 or setting register names in a licensed test application)
Spectrum Monitor: The Spectrum Monitor measurement allows you to find, identify and measure transmitted signals from your UE (mobile phone). It can also be used for spurious measurements in the transmit band.
IPv6 Support: the test set supports to be set up an IPv6 address.
