Trace Layout Submenu

From the Trace Layout submenu you can choose one of several types of trace layouts, specify a custom layout, or revert to a previous trace layout.

You can also access the Trace Layout menu by clicking the layout button in the Trace Toolbar.

Trace Layouts

You can control which traces are displayed in the layouts by selecting from the View Trace menus.

The following table describes each layout. When there are more visible traces than will fit in the trace layout, extra traces are distributed evenly in the layout as extra tabs. When there are fewer visible traces than the selected trace layout needs, the remaining trace windows will be added.

Trace Layout

Description

Previous Layout

Reverts to the previous trace layout. You can revert to any previous layout in the current VSA session.

Single

All visible traces are placed in a single tab group.

Stack N

N evenly spaced trace windows are stacked on each other.

Grid NxM

A grid of trace windows with N rows and M columns.

Custom

Tile Visible

Manually configuring trace window layout

You can also use the docking window features of the 89600 VSA to arrange the traces in a custom manner not provided by the Trace Layout commands. See the Using the Docking Window Manager topic for more information.
