Control Setup Mode
Basic Advanced
Waveforms One waveform that can be played on one or more AWG channels, with a complementary clock. A different waveform can be run on each AWG channel.
Duration Parameters
(Format, Symbol Rate, Pattern, etc.)
Forces identical duration parameters for each AWG channel waveform. Allows different durations parameters for each AWG channel waveform, but there are limitations on what combinations are playable by the AWG.
Non-Duration Parameters
(Amplitude, Filter Frequency, etc.)
For each channel, you can modify non-duration parameters that only affect the shape of the waveform.
Waveform
Compatibility
Only presents combinations of waveform parameters that are guaranteed to be playable by the AWG. No restriction on waveform combinations you can select. If you select a waveform combination that cannot be played by the AWG, an invalid status is displayed, the waveforms are not be "pushed" to the AWG, and the Send to Instrument button is greyed out, until a valid combination is selected.

Optimization
Used to initiate waveform Optimization. When completed, the optimization switches to Advanced setup mode, because each optimized channel needs a different pre-distorted waveform to compensate for its path’s unique frequency characteristics. Cannot initiate waveform Optimization. This prevents an optimization being run on a previously optimized signal.
