Installing Additional Programs on the Test Set

Last Updated: August 29, 2007

The test set is an open Windows system. This allows you to install your own programs. Agilent has verified that the following programs are compatible with the test set's applications:

Before installing any additional programs on the test set, you should close any programs that are currently running.

If you install programs other than those which Agilent has tested, it is possible that it could cause problems with the test set's applications. If this happens, try uninstalling the program that has caused the problem, or try changing the program's configuration. If this does not correct the problem, you may have to use the Agilent Recovery System to reinstall the test set's system software (see Using the Agilent Recovery System).

As the Microsoft Windows XP operating system is not a real time operating system, running additional programs on the test set while making measurements may occasionally cause errors (see integrity errors 41 and 42). This should rarely happen but if it does the most common measurement to display the error is the fast device tune measurement.
