Expected Power is used to range the test set's receiver. If the output power of the access terminal is more than 9 dB below the expected power, an under range integrity indicator is returned by the test set. If your settings for cell power, amplitude offset, open loop adjust and other parameters determining the expected power of the access terminal require the AT to output a power above its rated maximum power, then its power will likely be below the expected power. To prevent this from happening, you can specify AT Max Power, which defines an upper limit for the expected power. Expected power tracks the expected power from the access terminal based on the open loop equation, until it reaches AT Max Power. Expected power is then clipped to the AT Max Power value.
AT Max Power can be changed at any time.
Manual Operation: AT max power can be set by selecting
F6
on the
Call Control 1 of 2
menu from the
Call Setup
screen. AT max power is reported on the
Call Setup
screen in the
Access Terminal Information (User Entered)
window.
The possible settings for AT Max Power are based on the lower limit of the 4.3.4 Maximum RF Output Power minimum standard for each cell band and AT power class.
