The data offset <rate> parameters include: data offset 9k6, data offset 19k2, data offset 38k4, data offset 76k8, and data offset 153k6, corresponding to the five RTAP Rate s of 9.6, 19.2, 38.4, 76.8 and 153.6 kbps, respectively.

The data offset <rate> parameters allow you to specify a rate-specific offset for the R-Data and R-Access Data Channels to their nominal power (see Data Offset Nom ). The power level of the R-Data and R-Access channels is determined by the specific data offset <rate> and other parameters (see Expected Power ). Note that for the subtype 2 physical layer R-Data, the TxT2P Gain Settings are used to specify the power offset of the R-Data channel.

Depending upon current physical layer subtype, these parameters are used in different protocols (as shown in the table below). To determine when each protocol is active, see Current Physical Layer Subtype and Associated Protocols .

The data offset <rate> parameters are "Configurable Attributes" negotiated with the AT for the protocol during the Session Negotiate State . When a session is open, changing a data offset <rate> parameter results in a session re-negotiation. If a data offset <rate> parameter is changed when a connection is open, the connection will be closed. You will have to re-open the connection. See Session Negotiate State for details.
