Preamble length sets the length (in frames) of the access probe preamble.
Preamble length is sent in the Access Parameters message (see TAP/ETAP/MCTAP Data Connection Call Flow ). It can be changed at any time and will be sent out in the next Access Parameters message.
The Preamble Length value is not used (ignored) by the access terminal if the Preamble Length Slots field is sent in the Access Parameters Message. See Preamble Length Slots for details on when the Preamble Length Slots is sent.
